Watching someone you love struggle with an addiction and/or mental health issue can be incredibly scary and overwhelming. People struggling with addictions and/or mental health issues are not always willing or able to seek treatment. They may not believe there is actually a problem, or they may think they can figure things out on their own without any help. They may also not want to share what’s really going on because they are worried about the stigma they might face if they ask for help.
Loved ones can play a big part in helping a person recover, work towards their goals, and stay well. The care and emotional support from a loved one go a long way in recovery and well-being.
